Pakistan's Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa condoles John McCain's death

Islamabad, Aug 27 (IBNS): Pakistan's Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Monday condoled the death of US Senator John McCain.

DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor tweeted quoting the chief: "McCain was a distinguished war veteran and an accomplished representative of his country. A friend of Pakistan who believed in great potential of Pak-US relations for common good of both countries."

Republican Senator John McCain passed away on Saturday.

The Senator was 81. 

A statement from his office read: "Senator John Sidney McCain III died at 4:28pm on August 25, 2018. With the Senator when he passed were his wife Cindy and their family. At his death, he had served the United States of America faithfully for sixty years."
