Toronto, April 5 (IBNS): Pandit Prodyut Mukherjee regaled the audience with his mastery over Tabla, an Indian musical instrument, at the third Tookhar Tamasha Art's music festival held in Mississauga, Ontario.

Tookhar Tamasha Arts celebrated Canada 150 years presenting local and overseas performers on April 1 and 2, 2017 through a programme titled "JHOOM CANADA JHOOM" and in support of Project Udaan at Glenforest Secondary school in Mississauga.

Maestro Prodyut Mukherjee is a new age percussionist whose headliner performance the Rhythmexpress is his contribution towards a new form of fusion with depth and soul.

Apart from the musical rendition, the audience highly appreciated the realistic reproduction of various sounds, such as the noise made by the hooves of horses on the move, the noise created by trains on railway tracks, etc.

He had the audience clapping, cheering and participating with him.

"I feel honored to have been invited to watch this extraordinary performance," said Indira Naidoo-Harris, Member of Provincial Party, Minister of the Status of Women and Minister Responsible for Early Years and Child Care, who inaugurated the programme.

The revenue from this event will promote Project Udaan (PU), a pilot project which aims to rehabilitate the children of sex workers in Kolkata by providing free food, shelter, clothing, medical help, education, and vocational training.
