Putin triggers more health rumours as he covers legs with blanket at Victory Day Parade

Russian President Vladimir Putin has again sparked speculations over his health as he covered his legs with a thick green blanket as he sat between senior dignitaries and World War II veterans at Victory Day celebrations in Moscow's Red Square, media reports said.

According to photos and videos doing rounds on social media, Putin was wearing a bomber jacket and was the only one among his group who needed an extra cover at 9 degrees Celsius, which is a relatively mild temperature in Russia. A video also reportedly showed Putin appearing to limp, fuelling rumours that he could be having Parkinson's Disease or cancer.

This follows after reports said last month that the Kremlin leader might undergo surgery, possibly for cancer, and citing the Russian Telegram channel General SVR, the Independent reported that Putin's doctors had warned him that surrey could "incapacitate" him for a short time.

The 69-year-old appeared bloated and slouched and held on to the corner of the table for the entire 12-minute meeting with Russian defence minister Sergei Shoigu.

According to another report by Newsweek, during a meeting with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Putin was seen clutching a table for support.

It is worth noting that Kremlin keeps Putin's health under tight cover and even controls his appearances, like putting time limits on his appearances, according to news.com.au. So far, Kremlin hasn't made any comments on Putin's ill health.

Meanwhile, Putin used the Victory Day parade to make a strong speech justifying Russia's war on Ukraine Russian and telling the troops that they must battle for the nation's survival and to stop the “horror of a global war”.
