Damascus, May 23 (Sputnik/UNI) Syrian militants attacked Al-Zara power plant in the southern countryside of Hama province with a drone on Wednesday, dealing serious damage to the facility, the Syrian state television reported.

Intense fighting continues between government forces and militants in northwestern Syria. Running battles involving warplanes are reported near the town of Kafr Nabudah.

The Russian military, which has presence in the country, said on Wednesday that Syrian armed forces had repelled three attacks on the town by the Nusra Front terror group (banned in Russia) over the course of a single day.
