Taliban govt bans use of foreign currency in Afghanistan
Kabul: The Taliban government of Afghanistan has banned use of any foreign currency in any internal trade deals, marking yet another bizarre diktat issued by the regime.
In a statement, spokesperson of the Taliban Zabiullah Mujahid, said the ongoing economic situation in Afghanistan and national interests behoove the Afghan people to use their own currency (Afghani) in all kinds of trade deals.
Use of foreign currency adversely impacts the economy of Afghanistan and affects the lives of the Afghan people," reads the statement aas issued by Khaama Press.
The statement also mentioned that people who will breach the directives will face the consequence.
The Taliban captured Afghanistan after entering Kabul city on Aug 15 in a swift pace ever since the foreign forces started leaving the nation.
