Taliban takeover with alleged help of Pakistan is big military, terrorist and security threat to us: Belgian Senator
Brussels: Belgian senator Philip Dewinter recently said the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan allegedly with the help of Pakistan is a 'big military and security threat' to the world.
Attending an event in Brussels Press Club, he was quoted as saying by EU Reporter: "After the defeat of U.S led forces in the region we now have new possibilities of radical Muslims travelling from Europe to Syria. This will fuel international terrorism."
“The Taliban has money, experience and the means to organise these kinds of people," he said.
He described the Taliban as a big threat to the world.
"Our governments need to take the Taliban seriously. Dealing with them is a bad thing: we should boycott them as that is the only way to deal with the Taliban. They are a threat for the whole free world and certainly for us Western Europeans," he said.
"We have the threat of mass migration again as many Afghans will come here again. I am afraid of a third refugee crisis here again. We should be well aware that the Taliban takeover with the alleged help of Pakistan is a big military, terrorist and security threat to us," the Senator said.
The Taliban overran Afghanistan on Aug 15 after entering Kabul city.
