UK PM Theresa May to face vote of no confidence from Tory MPs

London, Dec 12 (IBNS): In a major development, British Prime Minister Theresa May will face a vote of confidence in her leadership on Wednesday.

She is reportedly facing the vote after her own party members triggered a vote of no-confidence in her leadership over her handling of Brexit.

She will be out as Conservative leader in case she loses the vote.

The starting gun was fired after 48 Conservative Members of Parliament submitted letters demanding a vote to the 1922 Committee, which represents rank-and-file Conservative MPs in the House of Commons, reported CNN.

Speaking outside 10 Downing Street, May was quoted as saying by BBC: "I will contest that vote with everything I have got."

The voting will take place on Wednesday and the results of it are expected to be out on the same day.
