Washington D.C./IBNS: Scripting a historic return to the White House after a gap of four years, Republican candidate Donald Trump called the US Presidential election result "unprecedented and powerful" with a promise to usher in the "golden age of America" and enforce a stricter border control.

Declaring victory for himself at a massive gathering, Trump said, "America has given us an unprecedented and powerful mandate. We have taken back control of the Senate."

The Republican candidate, who faces dozens of criminal cases, is hopeful to take control of the House of Representatives as well.

"It's a political victory our country has never seen before," says Trump, who will be the second President in the history of the US to return to office after a break. He said this "is truly the beginning of the golden age of America."

"We made a history for a reason tonight," he said.

Democrat Grover Cleveland was the only President to serve two non-consecutive terms (1885-1889 and 1893-1897) in the history of the US.

As per the election result trends projected by BBC News, Trump is winning 266 electoral votes, four short of the majority mark (270).

US Vice President Kamala Harris, who refused to address a crowd at her headquarters on Tuesday night, has bagged 219 electoral votes.

Among the seven swing states, Trump has won North Carolina, Georgia and Pennsylvania.

The seven swing states of Pennsylvania, Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, and Wisconsin that play a key role in determining the President of the country.

In his first speech since the results projected his return as the US President, Trump made it very clear about his core agendas.

"We will fix borders," he says, asserting his focus on national security.

Trump did not forget to remind the audience about the multiple conflicts in the Middle East in recent years and claimed he is against any war.

"For four years, we had no war except for the killing of ISIS. We won't start a war. We will stop the war," said Trump, who highlighted multiple wars in the last few years across the world at the fag end of his campaign.

Trump said that former independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. would help to “make America healthy again” Amid chants of “Bobby! Bobby!” by the gathering, Trump said, “He wants to do some things, and we’re going to let him go to it.”

On oil supply too, Trump advocated his country's dominance in a stern message to other suppliers including Russia, which is already facing the diplomatic wrath of the western world over its war against Ukraine.

“I will not let you down. America’s future will be bigger, better, bolder, richer, safer, and stronger than it has ever been before,” Trump said.

Americans voted in large numbers on Tuesday to decide who between Republican candidate Donald Trump and Democrat nominee Kamala Harris would occupy the White House next four years, in one of the most hard-fought polls.

The build-up to the final stage of the election has been quite a dramatic one with two assassination attempts at Trump during his campaign phase and Kamala Harris entering the poll race in a surprising move after.
