US President Donald Trump urges European allies to take back 800 IS fighters

Washington, Feb 17 (IBNS): US President Donald Trump on Sunday urged European allies to "take back over 800" ISIS fighters  who were captured from Syria.

Trump urged allies to put these captured people on trial.

He said the ISIS 'Caliphate' is ready to fall.

"The United States is asking Britain, France, Germany and other European allies to take back over 800 ISIS fighters that we captured in Syria and put them on trial. The Caliphate is ready to fall. The alternative is not a good one in that we will be forced to release them," Trump tweeted.

"The U.S. does not want to watch as these ISIS fighters permeate Europe, which is where they are expected to go. We do so much, and spend so much - Time for others to step up and do the job that they are so capable of doing. We are pulling back after 100% Caliphate victory!," he said.

A commander of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) has claimed that ISIS terrorist group just controls 700 square meters area in Syria, media reports said.

As per CNN report, the SDF launched an offensive last weekend to oust ISIS from its last enclave in Syria, in the small town of Baghouz Al-Fawqani in the country's east.

Its fighters have the terror group's final foothold surrounded but have slowed their advance to avoid harming thousands of civilians who are being held by ISIS as human shields, Commander Chia Kobani, head of operations for the SDF,  was quoted as saying by CNN.

He said SDF is working to liberate prisoners held by ISIS.

He was quoted as saying by the American news channel that they had been able to free 10 captives in recent days.
