World leaders pay homage on Saudi king Abdullah's demise
Riyadh, Jan 24 (IBNS): Leaders across the world are heading towards Saudi Arabia to attend the funeral of the country's king Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud who died on Friday.
According to reports, heads of countries including British Prime Minister David Cameron and French President Francois Hollande will be in Riyadh to pay homage to the Saudi King.
The US delegation is led by Vice-President Joe Biden. US President Barack Obama will also leave India after his address at Siri Fort Auditorium in New Delhi on the morning of Jan 27 to meet the new king of Saudi Arabia.
Vice President Hamid Ansari leads the Indian delegation on Saturday to attend the funeral of Saudi Arabia king Abdullah.
President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have sent condolence messages to King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, the son and successor of the departed leader.
"In his passing away, Saudi Arabia had lost a beloved leader, India a close friend and the world, an elder statesman," the Indian President said.
Abdullah breathed his last at the age of 90.
Following the demise, his brother Salman has been declared the new king.
