Global Economic Summit 2015 to begin on Nov 19

Mumbai, Sept 2 (IBNS) World Trade Centre (WTC) Mumbai and All India Association of Industries (AIAI) have embarked on organizing their annual flagship event 'Global Economic Summit (GES)' which is now in its 5th edition (GES 2015) with the theme 'Enabling Food for All'.

The 5th Global Economic Summit 2015 is scheduled for Nov 19-21, at the Expo Center, WTC Mumbai, Cuffe Parade. The theme‘Enabling Food for All’ is in keeping with the Sustainable Development Goals and International Year of Soils by the United Nations.

The WTC Mumbai Summit has got support from Ministry of Commerce and Industries and Ministry of MSME and Government of India. Also, prominent international organisations, Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) have supported the GES2015.

The Summit has received overwhelming response from internationally renowned organisations and will have speakers and participants from World Farmers Organisation (WFO), World Bank (WB), United Nations Procurement Division (UNPD) Global Research Alliance on Agricultural Greenhouse Gases (GRA) and the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA), New York. WTC Mumbai is a member of the WTCA New York, which is an unparalleled network of 320 WTCs from across 92 countries world over.

A number of Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) will be signed at the GES2015 during the course of these three days.

The purpose is to bring all the stakeholders face-to-face, mainly farmers who can directly interact with farmers from across the world, especially think of policies to increase women involvement in agriculture and schemes to attract youth to this sector, to eventually achieve rural development.
