HP announces HP Moonshot innovations

| | Jun 13, 2014, at 04:12 am
Mumbai, June 12 (IBNS): HP on Thursday announced HP Moonshot innovations that give enterprises the speed, agility and lower economics to build next-generation data centers that will power tomorrow’s successful organizations.

Data centers are reaching an unsustainable point—in the next five years the average enterprise will see data capacities grow more than 800 percent.

Enterprises need to be able to manage this exponential growth in data while introducing new applications, such as big data and analytics, using delivery models such as virtualized infrastructure and the cloud.

Yet, enterprise innovation is constrained by the complexities of outdated IT.

Organizations must optimize and modernize to deliver a New Style of IT that accelerates revenue generation, drives innovation and reduces business risk, while at the same time reducing overall costs.

HP understands what is needed in the data centre of the future and is driving innovation that addresses IT challenges created by social, cloud, mobile and big data.

Enhancements to the HP Moonshot system include  HP Moonshot ProLiant m300, HP Moonshot ProLiant m800, cost-effective and efficient mobile processing as well as accelerated seismic processing.

·    Powered by HP Moonshot ProLiant m700, HP ConvergedSystem 100 for Hosted Desktops enables customers to increase employee productivity with the industry’s first system engineered to deliver a consistent, high-quality PC experience for remote and mobile knowledge workers utilizing hosted desktops. With HP ConvergedSystem for Hosted Desktops, clients can deliver the business graphics and multimedia performance of a traditional desktop PC with 6 times faster graphics frames per second, compared to other virtual desktop infrastructure solutions.

“Organizations across the region are under enormous pressure to build an efficient infrastructure to grow, compete and be ready for what’s next,” said Vikram K, director, Servers, HP India.

“Today’s announcements demonstrate HP’s continued commitment to transforming the server landscape with customer-inspired innovations to Moonshot servers that enable organizations to be faster, smarter and more efficient now and into the future," he said.

Organizations across Asia Pacific are benefitting from compelling innovations and infrastructure economics offered by HP Moonshot servers.

Oriental DreamWorks is leveraging a broad portfolio of HP Converged Infrastructure integrated solutions, including HP Moonshot servers to help push the limits of creativity and deliver a new level of richness in an animated film.

The HP solutions work seamlessly together to power Oriental DreamWorks behind the scenes—from the data center to the studio—enabling the team to provide their artists with best-in-class technologies, resulting in more artistic iterations and notably less downtime.

“HP continues to be a trusted partner that helps us produce an innovative product with compelling content that engages the world,” said Jeffrey Katzenberg, chief executive officer, DreamWorks Animation.

“Having HP be the Preferred Technology Provider to Oriental DreamWorks is critical to success as we develop the tremendous and ever-growing opportunities in this region," he said.
