India helps to set up Apparel Training Centre in Nigeria's Kaduna
New Delhi, Jul 8 (IBNS): The Union Ministry of Commerce & Industry announced on Friday that an Apparel Training Centre has been established in Kaduna, Nigeria under the Cotton Technical Assistance Programme (Cotton TAP) for Africa.
The project is being implemented by Department of Commerce, Government of India under second India Africa Forum Summit.
This is a first of its kind centre in Nigeria set up in partnership with Government of Nigeria.
The Centre was inaugurated on June 22, 2016.
M K Dwivedi, Joint Secy in the Department of Commerce said that the Center is aimed to support and catalyze the initiative of the Government of Nigeria in realizing the objectives to rebuild the cotton and textile value chain and address the need for skilled workforce for domestic as well export-oriented apparel industry in the west African region.
