Indian fuel rates: Petrol price increases by 5 p/l; diesel gets slashed

New Delhi, Mar 30 (UNI) Petrol prices were raised by 5 paise per litre on Saturday while diesel gets slashed by 8 p/l across major cities of the country.

In national capital, petrol is retailing at Rs 72.86 as against of Rs 72.81 on Friday while diesel costs Rs 66.22 as against of Rs 66.30 p/l yesterday.

In Mumbai, petrol is being sold for Rs 78.48 p/l. Diesel costs Rs 69.36 a litre. On Friday, petrol was at Rs 78.43 and diesel Rs 69.44 p/l.

According to Indian Oil Corporation website, petrol and diesel cost Rs 74.93 and 68 per litre in Kolkata.

Similarly, in Chennai petrol is retailing at Rs 75.67 p/ litre and diesel Rs 69.97 a litre.

In Noida, petrol is retailing at Rs 72.78 per litre and diesel costs Rs 65.47 a litre.

In Gurgaon, petrol is being sold for Rs 72.24 a litre and diesel Rs 65.36 per litre.

As per the country’s dynamic pricing mechanism, the domestic fuel prices depend upon International fuel prices on a 15-day average and the value of the rupee.

The price of the two fuels retailing at the petrol pumps is calculated after adding central excise duty, dealers commission and value-added tax (VAT) to the base price.

The prices are revised at 0600 hrs daily, while earlier it used to be revised every fortnight.
