Indian markets close flat on Thursday

Mumbai, Mar 31 (IBNS) The Indian benchmark indices, which was partly positive and partly volatile on Thursday, finally closed flat, with Sensex up 3.28 points to 25341.86 and Nifty up 3.20 points to 7738.40.

Sometime before market close, the markets turned volatile tracking the expiry of the March derivative contracts.

Some of the top gainers on Thursday included Tata Power, Zee Entertainment, IndusInd Bank, UltraTech Cement, TCS, Infosys, Sun Pharms and Idea Cellular.

But Vedanta, Cairn India, ONGC, State Bank of India, Coal India, Tata Steel, Punjab National Bank and Tata Steel figured among the top losers.
