Ringing Bells closes taking bookings for Freedom 251 phone

New Delhi, Feb 20 (IBNS) Mobile phone makers Ringing Bells on Saturday stopped taking booking for its 'Freedom 251' phone.

The move was made a day ahead its booking was supposed to be closed.
"We are humble and extremely grateful for your overwhelming response and trust. Respectfully this is to advice that the response far exceeds the number that we had expected and therefore we are now closing the invitation to bookings in this phase 1," the company said in a Facebook post.

"We appreciate and acknowledge that we may not have been able to meet the needs of all but will definitely look forward to serving you again in the next phase," it said.

The phone is priced at Rs. 251.

It is arguably the cheapest smartphone in the world.

The phone is powered by a 1.3GHz processor.

The phone is coupled with 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage.
