Senior executives resign from NDTV after Adani takeover: Report

| @indiablooms | Jan 14, 2023, at 05:13 am

Mumbai: New Delhi Television (NDTV) said Friday that some more of its senior executives have resigned, Reuters reported.

President Suparna Singh, chief strategy officer, Arijit Chatterjee, and chief technology and product officer, Kawaljit Singh Bedi, have quit the news network, the report said.

According to the report, NDTV, in a regulatory filing, said, "The company is in the process of putting up a new leadership team which will set a fresh strategic direction and goals for the company."

This comes less than a month after Adani Group took over 65 percent of the broadcaster, after acquiring NDTV’s promoter company.

Founders Prannoy Roy and Radhika Roy left the company's board in December, offloading most of their shares in the news organisation to Adani Group.

As per a December 2022 regulatory filing, Radhika and Prannoy Roy sold 27.26 percent out of their 32.26 percent stake in NDTV to Adani Group, retaining a minority 5 percent shareholding.

NDTV was founded in 1988 and owned by Prannoy Roy and his wife Radhika Roy.

In 2022, Adani’s new media unit AMG Media Networks Ltd also bought a stake in business news platform BQ Prime, formerly called BloombergQuint.
