Sensex jumps 500 points during early trade

The BSE Sensex on Monday surged 534.15 points to 71,234.82 in early trade as buying was seen across the board.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 194.95 points to 21,547.55.

The Sensex registered intraday highs and lows at 71,353.23 and 70,880.54 points, respectively.

The Nifty recorded intraday highs and lows at 21,562.60 and 21,429.60 points, respectively.

The Mid Cap moved up 0.63 pc and the Small Cap by 0.75 pc.

In 30 scrips, 26 advanced while 4 declined.

The gainers were Sun Pharma by 2.65 pc to Rs 1411.35, NTPC by 1.70 pc to Rs 320.35, Powergrid by 1.63 pc to visit 249.45, and Kotak Bank by 1.79 pc to Rs 1799.

The losers were Infosys by 0.83 percent to Rs 1656.90, JSW Steel by 0.82 percent to Rs 809.75, and ITC by 0.38 percent to Rs 453.70.
