Kolkata, Nov 14 (IBNS): Uber, the world’s largest on demand ride sharing company, on Tuesday announced a nationwide initiative, UberSCHOLAR, on the occasion of Children’s Day. This aims to encourage and enable children of Driver Partners to educate themselves and create a brighter future for themselves.

As a part of this initiative, scholarships of Rs. 4 lakhs in total were provided to children of 50 driver partners across Kolkata.

Driver Partners are an integral part of the Uber family and the brand is focused towards integrating their lives beyond the platform helping them create a sustainable life for themselves and their families.

UberSCHOLAR is one such initiative.

This initiative aims to encourage children of Driver Partners to focus on education and empower themselves to create a positive impact in their own lives and support their families.

Arpit Mundra, General Manager Kolkata, Uber, said, “We constantly endeavour to engage holistically with our driver-partners and enable better opportunities for various aspects of their lives. Our driver-partners commit time and energy to provide a better quality of life for their families; and children’s education is an important aspiration. We are happy that we can enable them to get a step closer to this through the UberSCHOLAR initiative. We wish all the children a bright and happy future.”
