Bangladesh: Four more die due to COVID-19

Dhaka/IBNS: The Bangladesh government on Sunday said four more people have died due to COVID-19 infection in the country.

The death toll due to the disease has touched 34.

The tally of infections jumped to 621 after another 139 new cases were detected in the 24 hours to 8am on Sunday, according to IEDCR Director Meerjady Sabrina Flora, reported bdnews24.

Three patients, including a health professional, returned home during this period, bringing the number of recovered patients to 39 so far, reported the news portal.

A total of 1,340 samples from across the country were tested in the last 24 hours, Additional Director General of Health Directorate Sania Tahmina told bdnews24.


The disease, which originated from China, has now spread to different corners of the globe.
