New Delhi/UNI: The National Capital's air quality on Tuesday deteriorated further and turned 'very poor' with the average Air Quality Index rising to 371 at 1300 hrs, Central Pollution Control Board said here.

At several locations including Anand Vihar , ITO , Chandni Chowk , Okhla Phase 2 the AQI was measured above 400 , with the air quality falling under the 'severe' category at these places.

The air quality in Ghaziabad also took a hit and the AQI was measured above the 400 mark across the district at different monitoring centres of the CPCB.

Similarly , out of the four centres in Noida , two measured AQI above 400 , while at the other two it was above 350.

The minimum temperature in National Capital this morning was recorded at 6.8 degrees C , while the sky remained hazy with relative humidity also pegging at higher level , which was 95 per cent in the morning , all factors contributing to making the air dense , preventing the dispersion of the particulate matter.

According to the weatherman, the maximum temperature during the day is likely to hover around 26 degrees C, while on Monday the maximum temperature had settled at 25.4 degrees C during the day.
