Five more COVID positive patients recover in Odisha

Bhubnaeswar/UNI:  In a positive development five more COVID-19 patients in Odisha recovered after their samples tested negative.

Taking on Twitter, Odisha Health and Family Welfare Department said “It is indeed a pleasure to share that another five Covid patients, all of Bhubaneswar, have recovered and tested negative for COVID-19."

Earlier, 13 COVID- 19 positive patients were cured/discharged from the hospitals.

“With the combined efforts of all, Odisha is winning the fight against Covid!.”,the department release said.

However, one more person last night tested positive taking the total COVID-19 cases to 56 in the state.

Official sources said so far 4,734 samples were tested and 4,678 of them were found negative. Altogether 18 people have so far recovered/ discharged from the hospital and 37 active cases are undergoing treatment in various Covid hospitals in the state.

Only one Covid patient has died in the AIIMS, Bhubaneswar.

As many as 2,790 beds in 17 COVID hospitals have become operational in Odisha to strengthen the state’s fight against Corona virus.

As many as 7020 temporary medical centres with 1,62,659 bed capacity have also become functional in 6,798 Gram Panchayats in the State.

In a major relief to the farmers in the state, the government had announced a slews of relaxations in the agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry and pisciculture sectors.

The relaxations will come into force in the second phase of lock down period in the state which begins from April 15 to midnight of April 30 next, Special Relief Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Jena said.
