Heinrich Popow to conduct first ever running clinic for people-with disabilities in India

Mumbai, Nov 26 (IBNS): Ottobock Healthcare, the world-leading suppliers of innovative solutions for people with limited mobility, will be organizing the first edition of their Running Clinics in Mumbai, this December.

The Running clinic, which will begin on Dec 3, will be conducted by Heinrich Popow, a Paralympian gold medalist and German sprinter.

The clinic has over 12 participants from varied backgrounds and places, who will come to Mumbai for the 3-day session.

The Running Clinics are conducted by Ottobock across the globe in different countries with an aim of educating and empowering people with physical mobility limitations about how they too can lead an active life. The company’s brand ambassador – Heinrich Popow personally conducts these clinics based on the challenges he faced early-on and techniques he has used to overcome the same.

In the sessions, Heinrich will elaborate about the mindset and challenges people with limitations mobility challenges face, based on his own life story. He will also conduct training sessions, educating the participants about blade fittings, fitness activities, usage of prostheses and how to manage aches and pains.

The Running session will also include a cricket match in which Heinrich and the participants will play as well as a run on Marine Drive.

However, with the use of modern technology, these people no longer need to be confined to a sedentary lifestyle. Our Running Clinic with Heinrich Popow starting on Disability Day is meant to showcase to people with physical disabilities that like Heinrich, they too can lead an active lifestyle.”
