India logs 6,809 new Covid cases in last 24 hrs

New Delhi/UNI: India registered 6,809 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the Health Ministry said on Sunday.

According to the bulletin issued by the Health Ministry, the total caseload rose to 4,44,56,455 while the death toll rose to 5,27,911 as 26 more succumbed to the disease.

On the other hand, 8,414 people recuperated from the disease, taking the recovery to 4,38,73,430. The recovery rate stands at 98.69 per cent.

The active caseload stands at 55,114, the figures showed.

As per the bulletin, 88.71 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far.

India has administered 213.20 crore doses of the Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive.
