India records 44,643 new COVID-19 cases in past 24 hours

New Delhi: India recorded 44,643  new COID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, marking a slight spike in cases, as per data released by the Ministry of Health on Friday.

During the past 24 hours, 464 people died. The death toll due to the disease now stands at 426754.

Recovery Rate currently stands at 97.36 percent.

41,096 patients recovered during the last 24 hours.

India's Active caseload currently stands at 4,14,159.

Active cases constitute 1.30 percent of total cases.

India witnessed a strong second wave of the pandemic as the country witnessed a spike in cases.

The increase in positive cases left people struggling for hospitals beds and oxygen supply.

The spike in deaths also left crematorium and burial grounds overwhelmed.
