India reports 20,139 new Covid-19 cases in 24 hours

New Delhi/UNI: India reported 20,139 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the Health Ministry said Thursday.

According to the Health Ministry bulletin, the total caseload rose to 4,36,52,944, while the death toll rose to 5,25,557 after 38 more people succumbed to the disease.

Meanwhile, 16,482 people recovered from the disease, taking the tally of recoveries to 4,36,89,989. The recovery rate currently stands at 98.49%.

The active caseload currently stands at 1,36,076, the figures showed.

As per the bulletin, 86.81 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far.

India has administered 199.27 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive.

The central government Wednesday announced free 75-day anti-Covid vaccination drive to inoculate booster doses to all people aged 18-59 from Jul 15.
