India reports 26,727 COVID-19 cases in 24 hours

New Delhi/IBNS: In a spike, India reported 26,727 COVID-19 cases while the toll went up by 277 in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry stated Friday.

The active cases now account for 0.82% of the total cases, the lowest since Mar 2020.

The country's active caseload, which is now 2,75,224, is at present lowest in 196 days.

In 24 hours between Thursday and Friday mornings, 28,246 COVID-19 patients have recovered.

The recovery rate has hit the highest since Mar 2020 with 97.86%.

So far under the national vaccination drive, 89.02 crore anti-COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the vast country of 1.3 billion people.
