Maharashtra Health Minister says COVID-19 cases declining in state

Pune/UNI: Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope on Saturday claimed that the third wave of COVID-19 was fast declining in the state.

The minister stated that the number of daily patients in the state reached to 47,000 but now it has come down to 25,000.

"However, in the cities like Nashik, Nagpur, Pune, Aurangabad number is still rising but there is no reason to worry as they are getting cured in five to seven days with simple treatment and medicines", he said.

"Currently, 92 to 96 per cent bed are vacant and less than one per cent patients is on oxygen, ICU or ventilators", he added.

At present, there are 2,70,444 active COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra.
