Thirteen Tablighi Jamaat people quarantined in Uttar Pradesh

Auraiyya/UNI: As many as 13 people of Tablighi Jamaat have been quarantined following a medical check-up in a vacant building in this district of Uttar Pradesh.

Information regarding whether they attended the 'Markaz' in New Delhi's Nizamuddin area is being ascertained.

Official sources on Thursday said that out of these 13 people, 11 hail from Shamli while the other two are from Telangana. They had arrived from Shamli about 15 days ago and after staying in a mosque in Auraiyya, had also put up in other mosques in the Khanpur town.

Following the lockdown, the group has stayed at the Quraishiyan mosque.

Sources said that during a probe that was initiated in the district after the Nizamuddin 'Markaz, news surfaced. It was learnt that that Tablighi Jamaat people were staying in the Khanpur town.

On the directions of District Magistrate (DM) Abhishek Singh, CMO Archana Srivastava had all these people thermally scanned wherein everyone was found to be normal.

Following the medical check-up, they were quarantined in a vacant building in the Khanpur town where they will be monitored for 14 days.
