Two moderate-intensity earthquakes hit Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district on Tuesday, officials said.

The two earthquakes did not cause damage or casualties.

However, they created panic in the Valley.

The first earthquake with a magnitude of 4.9 on the Richter Scale hit J&K at around 6.45 am, as per data released by the National Center for Seismology.

Another earthquake, measuring 4.8 on the Richter Scale, rocked the same region just seven minutes after the first one.

The epicenter of the quake was located at a depth of 10 kilometers.
