Emami Foundation celebrates 7th edition of Book Lending Programme with CSR initiatives

Kolkata, Feb 10 (IBNS): Emami Foundation, the CSR and philanthropic arm of the Rs 10,000 crore business conglomerate Emami Group, observed its 7th edition of Book Lending Programme with its CSR programmes "Padho India Padho" and "Badhte kadam" here on Tuesday.

A formal function was organised at the South City International School Auditorium.

As a part of its CSR initiatives, 46 B.Tech students of Calcutta University were awarded with educational scholarships for their future education and 49 vocational students were also awarded with certificates for their excellence.

The occasion was graced by Brahmachari Mural Bhai, General Secretary and Trustee, Dakshineshwar Ramkrishna Sangha, Adya Peeth and Prof. Soma Bandhyopadhaya as the Special Guests. 

The Founders and Joint Chairman of Emami Group of Companies,  R.S. Agarwal and  R.S. Goenka were also present there. 

 
They said: "We at Emami Foundation believe that empowerment of an individual is possible only if India reads and learns. We want to extend the coverage of these programmes to a larger number of beneficiaries across  West Bengal and subsequently beyond the limits of the state to other parts of the country. Towards this purpose, we are planning to  connect further through print advertisements in major dailies".
