Kolkata/IBNS: That the world of fashion is increasinly delving into traditional art forms was recently evident at a two-day pop up show organised by Dapper, a Kolkata-based multi-designer menswear store.

Called ‘The Getaway Edit 2020’, it showcased the works of  Indian designer duo Shivan & Naresh, who drew inspiration from tradtiional art forms practised by two communities from two different states.

The assemblage was inspired by the elements of West Bengal’s Pattachitra art and Tholu Bommalata leather puppets of Andhra Pradesh.

Designed for millennials on a luxurious getaway, the Patu Series by Shivan & Naresh showcased prints of the season illustrated effectively on the key ensembles against a luminous colour palette of Rosh, Indigo, Slate, Pepe, Som and Wheat while capturing the enthusiasm of an indulgent holiday, a destination wedding or a plush honeymoon.

According to  Shilpa Sethi, owner of Dapper, “The Getaway Edit 2020 came to a thriving conclusion with an incredible showcase for all our guests. It brings us a sense of pride when we say that we don’t compromise on brands and designers. We take utmost care in selecting our exhibitors, both emerging and established. This has helped us in creating many happy and satisfied customers who are willing to shop repetitively at our store.”
