New York, Oct 17 (IBNS): Search engine Google on Tuesday designed its homepage with a special doodle to celebrate the life and success of singer Selena Quintanilla.

The singer was best known across the world for her songs like "Dreaming of You," "I Could Fall in Love," and "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom."

Selena Quintanilla-Pérez , mononymously known as Selena, was an American singer, songwriter, spokesperson, model, actress, and fashion designer.

Called the Queen of Tejano music, her contributions to music and fashion made her one of the most celebrated Mexican-American entertainers of the late 20th century.

Google in its doodle illustrated the story of Quintanilla's life through an animated video.

In the video, animated Selena Quintanilla could be seen maturing from a small child to a star singer and gaining fame in her life.

The singer's life was cut short when she was shot and killed by the former president of her fan club in 1995.
