HDFC Bank kicks off Josh Unlimited in Kolkata

Kolkata, Nov 22 (IBNS): Private sector bank HDFC Bank Ltd launched the third edition of its annual sports competition for its employees in Kolkata on Saturday.

The event, known as Josh Unlimited, is a platform for the bank employees to participate in multiple sports such as cricket, football, badminton, throwball, athletics, carom, chess and table tennis among others. The competition is organised in 25 cities across India.

The event in Kolkata was held at Rabindra Sarobar Stadium.

Close to 700 employees and their families participated in it.

Josh Unlimited was inaugurated by V. Chakrapani, Group Head, Audit and Compliance, in the presence of all the competitors and senior bank officials.

Last year,more than 28,000 employees of HDFC Bank participated in the competition held at 15 locations over a period of five months.

Speaking about the event, Naina Panse, Head, Employee Engagement, HDFC Bank, said, “In its third year, we are taking Josh Unlimited to close to 25 cities across the country, and we expect more than 30,000 employees from over 300 locations to participate. Through this event employees from different branches and locations come together for a day of friendly competition. Josh Unlimited helps them build team spirit and camaraderie in a more informal setting.”

V Chakrapani, Group Head, Audit and Compliance said, “I am excited to be a part of Josh Unlimited in Kolkata. Physical activity is an important aspect of our overall health and well-being. I am happy that we have this excellent platform at HDFC Bank, which gives us the opportunity to participate in various sporting events. I hope to see many of my colleagues and their families during the course of this completion.”
