Mumbai, Aug 27 (IBNS): On Lakmé Absolute Grand Finale, designer Monisha Jaising showcased her stunning collection, titled ‘Shades of a Diva’, which was named and inspired by Lakmé ’s beauty statement of the season.

The beauty statement was brought alive by actress and Lakmé Brand Ambassador Kareena Kapoor Khan.

Kareena also launched her premium makeup line, ‘Kareena Kapoor Khan by Lakmé Absolute’, which she has been co-created with Lakmé this season.

Monisha Jaising is known for her trademark designs that emote ‘laidback glamour’ and this fit perfectly into Lakmé‘s ‘Shades of a Diva’ theme. Her creations showcased figure sculpting silhouettes with use of precious elements and colourful fabrics, in both, muted like sweet lilac and bold like peacock green, palettes.

The embroidery on the designs derived inspiration from global art and complemented the ‘diva-licious’ Lakmé Absolute Grand Finale stage.

Monisha said: "My association with Lakmé Fashion Week goes years back and me being the Lakmé Absolute Grand Finale designer this season and creating a collection inspired by Lakmé 's beauty theme - Shades of a Diva was a whole other experience! I’m ecstatic that my signature style and my design philosophy synergized perfectly with this theme.

"I couldn’t have of course asked for someone better to be my showstopper than Kareena who embodied the theme perfectly and the entire showcase was elevated with Cirque du Soleil’s spectacular performance. I also want to congratulate her and Lakmé on their very first ever co-created makeup range, I have tried it already and I love it!” says Monisha Jaising, Lakmé Absolute Grand Finale Designer for Winter Festive 2018."

Kareena said: “It’s been such a wonderful association with Lakmé from the very beginning and coming back to the Lakmé Absolute Grand Finale this time was very special. I am so excited to present my first ever makeup collection ‘Kareena Kapoor Khan by Lakmé Absolute’.

"It’s spectacular to see how beautifully Monisha has brought alive the beauty theme of Shades of a Diva through her designs. I loved her entire collection and specially the outfit I wore.”

Speaking about the Finale, Ashwath Swaminathan, Head of Innovations, Lakmé, said, “Every season, our endeavor has been to introduce new beauty trends that complement and celebrate Indian women."
