Kolkata, Nov 19 (IBNS): X5 Retail, a company which organizes weekend bazaars has come up with theme for wedding related merchandise at Forum mall at Kolkata's Elgin Road area.

Starting November, the company will display some exclusive designer lehengas, suits, sarees, jewelry, bags, gift boxes, Kashmiri sarees, Phulkari and a lot more at the ground floor of the mall.

Pradeep Singh Shekhawat, CEO, X5 Retail explained “Our previous theme of arts & crafts was well accepted by the people in other cities like Mumbai, hence this time around, X5 retail decided to keep a wedding theme based weekend bazaar to capture the celebration of being united and tying the knot."

Shekhawat said: " Our wedding collection stands out as we have retailers from all across north eastern India who have joined hands with us to showcase their beautiful and innate collection. There is just so much that a metro city can offer in terms of handicrafts to its people, the idea of bringing the art and crafts of India vis a vis the modern retail scenario, stemmed from this need. With rapid urbanization and with the advent of international brands, people have become smarter and want to see a mix of the east and the west all under one roof. Thus, we make sure every product sold at our Weekend Bazaar is traditional in design yet modern in its appearance.”

The wedding theme collection at the Forum mall is influenced by the vibrant traditions and colours of India.

The collection comprises of embroidered designer lehengas, Jaipuri lehengas, phulkari sarees, jackets and dupattas.

Apart from these, designer footwear, Kashmiri shawls, jackets and bags will be displayed at X5 Retail.

The concept of weekend bazaar by X5 Retail has been adopted by seven malls in Mumbai and now its finding its spot in Kolkata’s Avani, Forum and Mani Square mall.

The company also plans to expand to other cities like Raipur, Bhubaneshwar, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Surat, Ahmedabad and Pune  in the coming months.
