100 patients evacuated after fire in Ahmedabad hospital

Ahmedabad: A massive fire erupted in the basement of a hospital in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad after which at least 100 patients were evacuated as a safety measure, media reports said.

The fire broke out in the basement of Rajasthan Hospital, located in the city's Sahibaug area, at around 4:30 am, the reports said citing a police source.

The firefighting operations are going on and the smoke is still emanating from the basement, police said.

The cause of the fire is yet to be investigated.

The hospital is run by a charitable trust, said a media report.
