61-year-old Telangana man shot dead by teenager in US

New Delhi, Nov 18 (IBNS): A 61-year old man from Telangana has been shot dead outside his apartment in the United States, media reports said.

According to reports, the victim, Sunil Edla was scheduled to visit India for a two-month trip.

He had planned to spend the Christmas with his family in Andhra Pradesh's Medak.

Edla was reportedly shot to death by a 16-year-old boy in a carjacking incident in Ventnor city.

Police recovered Edla's wounded body on the sidewalk near his house on Nov 15.

He died before the police reached.

According to reports, Edla was leaving his home for work when he was shot.

Edla's vehicle was then found around 6 kms from his home in Atlantic City.

Once his vehicle was found, police could track the suspect and arrested him on Friday.

The accused has been charged via Juvenile Complaint with murder, robbery, carjacking, unlawful possession of a handgun.

A father of two, Edla worked in Atlantic City's hospitality industry and had been staying in the city of about 30 years.
