New Delhi, June 2 (IBNS) The Delhi police on Tuesday arrested a driver of cab service provider Uber, who had allegedly molested a female passenger in Gurgaon on Sunday.

The accused, identified as Vinod, is a resident of Delhi, reports said.

An FIR has been lodged by Gurgaon police in the case under section 354 A (molestation) of IPC against the cab driver.

The victim also registered her complaint over phone to an Uber representative following the incident  wherein the cab driver allegedly tried to kiss her.

The Uber representative said, "We have a zero tolerance policy for this behaviour and I assure you that our team is following up with Vinod (cab driver) appropriately and immediately."

Thel Uber representative  also claimed that "immediate action has already been taken with the driver partner even while the matter is being thoroughly investigated.

However, the woman's brother alleged inaction even after registering the complaint and demanded punishment for the culprit. U

In another incident last year, a Uber driver allegedly raped a woman passenger in Delhi  and the incident  invited temporary ban on Uber service in the capital.
