Bihar political turmoil: BJP keeping a close watch, says Giriraj Singh

Patna/UNI: With the fluid political scenario in Bihar putting a question mark on the fate of the Grand Alliance government, Union Minister and senior BJP leader Giriraj Singh on Saturday said his party is presently keeping a close watch on the rapidly changing situation.

Singh told media persons here that there was no need for him to say something on the issue.

"Has Lalu or Nitish ever said about their decision to walk out from the Grand Alliance? Then where is the question of any role of the BJP in this scenario? " the BJP leader asked, saying his party would step in only after any decision was taken either by Lalu or Nitish.

He did not respond to any query further from media persons in this connection.

As per reports, the central leadership of BJP has made up its mind to welcome Chief Minister Kumar in the NDA again if he decides to snap ties with RJD and walk out of the Grand Alliance.

Some BJP leaders, including state party president Samrat Chaudhary, were initially opposed to NDA accepting Nitish in its fold again but later changed stand after his meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Thursday.

Another senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi was also making statements against his party felicitating re-entry of Nitish in NDA and had remarked that the door of BJP was closed for Nitish.

In the rapidly changing political scenario, Modi changed his stand and made it clear that he would accept any decision of central leadership regarding Nitish.

Union Minister Giriraj Singh appears to have still not changed his stand and is waiting for a final decision by Lalu and Nitish on the fate of the Grand Alliance.

Even on Thursday, Singh said, " Door of BJP is closed for Nitish. "
