Bihar turns up the volume! Singer-turned-politician Maithili Thakur set to become the youngest MLA in the state

Patna/IBNS: Singer-turned-politician Maithili Thakur, who is leading from Alinagar as a BJP candidate, is set to become the youngest MLA of Bihar if the current trend of poll results hold.

Thakur, 25, is ahead of her nearest rival from the RJD by over 9,000 votes as the poll results are pouring in since morning.

The former music show contestant had created a wave in the Bihar political landscape after joining the BJP a month ahead of the assembly elections, which were held in two phases on November 6 and 11.

As per the current trend of the results, the NDA's lead has breached the 200-mark in a spectacular victory in the state where Nitish Kumar is eyeing his 10th term.

Battling with people's migration to other states for jobs, economic distress, Bihar handed over a massive blow to Mahagathbandhan, which is leading in less than 30 seats as the opposition coalition, led by RJD and Congress, suffered a freefall of leads since the morning.

Within NDA, BJP has emerged as the single largest party again with over 90 seats, JD(U) closely following in with more than 80 seats, LJPRV 20 and HAM 4.

Within Mahagathbandhan, RJD's tally of seats is revolving around 25 while its allies are sticking to single digit.
