BSF recovers 9.5 kg heroin worth Rs 50 crore from Fazilka district in border area of Punjab

A BSF patrolling party recovered 9.5 kg of heroin worth Rs 50 crore in the international market ahead of the fence, near Maharsona village, Fazilka district in the border area of Fazilka district on Friday morning.

A BSF Spokesperson said subsequently, BSF Punjab troops, accompanied by narcotics sniffer dogs, initiated an extensive search operation in the area surrounding the suspected footprints.

At approximately 10 AM, BSF troops successfully recovered 9 packets of Heroin (gross weight approximately 9.5kg) each filled separately in black-colored socks.

He said that the diligent and vigilant BSF troops have once again thwarted a nefarious attempt by Pakistani smugglers to smuggle narcotics across the Punjab border. The value of Heroin in the international market is 50 crore.
