Central government offices, institutions to observe Constitution Day
Kolkata, Nov 25 (IBNS): All Central Government offices and institutions are likely to celebrate Constitution Day which falls on Nov 26 every year.
As a part of 125th birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Constitution Day was celebrated on Nov 26, 2015 for the first time and it was decided by the Government that Constitution Day would be celebrated on this day every year.
On this day in 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, and it went into effect on Jan 26, 1950.
