Guwahati/UNI To assess the damages caused by the monsoon floods, a six-member central team is on a three-day visit to Assam.

The team will assess the damages caused by the floods that affected around 56 lakh people and killed 113 people.

The team is expected to visit the flood-affected districts to assess the damages caused to the property, crops and various other assets including river dams.

Assam Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) said that during the three-day visit to Assam, the team will hold meetings with senior officials of the revenue department and the disaster management authorities.

The Assam government has already sent an interim flood damage report to the Centre.
