Centre summons Wikipedia over 'misinformation' on Arshdeep Singh's page after India-Pak match

New Delhi/IBNS: The Electronics and IT Ministry Tuesday summoned executives from Wikipedia after misinformation was allegedly spread on Indian cricketer Arshdeep Singh's page where the latter was linked to the separatist Khalistani movement, media reports said.

As per reports, the central government believes the misinformation may lead to communal disharmony.

A high-level panel is likely to quiz the executives.

Arshdeep was mercilessly trolled on social media after he dropped a relatively easy catch at a crucial point in the closing overs of the India-Pakistan match in the Asia Cup Sunday.

After the catch was dropped, Pakistan went on to register a five-wicket win over arch-rival India in the Super Four contest.

Despite the drop, Arshdeep unsuccessfully tried hard to manage a victory for Team India taking the match to the second last ball.
