Delhi liquor scam case: ED approaches court after Arvind Kejriwal skips summonses

| @indiablooms | Feb 04, 2024, at 03:09 am

New Delhi: A day after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal failed to attend the fifth summons in connection with the alleged liquor policy scam, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) lodged a complaint with the court, being to notice his non-compliance with the interrogation process.

The Rouse Avenue court in New Delhi is set to address the case on Wednesday.

Kejriwal, who declined to appear before the Enforcement Directorate on Friday, has repeatedly asserted that the summonses issued to him are illegal, and he alleges that the agency's sole objective is to arrest him.

There has been speculation about the possible arrest of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief since the initial summons was issued by the agency on November 2.

Two other AAP leaders, former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, were also arrested last year in connection with the same case.
