'Dharmendra Pradhan must resign': Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke joins Jantar Mantar protest

New Delhi/IBNS: Calls for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan grew louder from the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) camp as its founder, Abhijeet Dipke, arrived at the Jantar Mantar protest site in New Delhi on Saturday as scheduled.

Protest slogans echo across Jantar Mantar

The demonstration gathered momentum soon after Dipke reached the venue, with protesters raising slogans such as, "The youth of the country will no longer fear, they will fight", "Cockroaches don't even fear, they never die either" and "Dharmendra Pradhan must resign".

The slogans reverberated across the protest site as supporters rallied behind the group's demands.

Demand centred on examination controversies

The protesters are seeking Pradhan's resignation over examination-related controversies and alleged administrative lapses, particularly in the backdrop of the NEET-UG paper leak row.

The Cockroach Janta Party has maintained that accountability must be fixed for the irregularities that triggered widespread concern among students and aspirants.

Security tightened in national capital

Police had earlier granted permission for the protest while simultaneously strengthening security arrangements across several locations in the national capital.

Additional personnel were deployed at key points as authorities monitored the situation during the high-profile demonstration.

From online campaign to street protest

Dipke has called for a peaceful demonstration at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on June 6, describing it as a milestone in the group's transition from an internet-based movement to street-level activism.

About the campaign

The Cockroach Janta Party emerged as an online satirical campaign that uses humour and social media engagement to critique governance and public policy issues.

The movement began following a controversy over remarks attributed to Chief Justice of India Surya Kant regarding unemployed youth.

In recent months, the initiative has gained traction among sections of young internet users, with its organisers now seeking to convert online support into real-world political activism.
