DU to retain 4 year undergraduate programme
New Delhi, June 22 (IBNS): The Delhi University (DU) has decided to remain firm on its stand of keeping a four year undergraduate programme (FYUP).
The Academic Council of the University of Delhi on Saturday held a meeting over the University Grants Commission's (UGC) letter which sought a review of the four year undergraduate programme.
According to the reports, the DU has refused to scrap the programme.
UGC had said that in order to maintain uniformity in the system of higher education, the DU should go back to its three-year programme that is practiced in all universities across the country.
The UGC letter came after the NDA took charge at the Centre.
The BJP had, in its election manifesto. promised to scrap this programme.
