'False and misleading': Axis My India rejects viral images of poll survey results depicting NDA loss in election 2024

New Delhi/IBNS: Polling agency Axis My India has said the set of viral photos, claiming that they show the results of an opinion poll survey conducted by it on the Lok Sabha 2024 elections, are “false and misleading”.

The viral images show projected results suggesting that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is expected to lose seats to the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA). The projections also indicate that the BJP is expected to lose 94 seats across "almost every state".

Pradeep Gupta, the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Axis My India, issued a clarification on Friday regarding the fake opinion poll conducted in the company's name.

The fraudulent opinion poll allegedly projected 243 seats for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and 242 seats for the INDIA bloc.

In a post on X (formerly twitter), Axis My India wrote, “Some posts and reports are misusing Axis My India name. Don’t trust any such reports.”

In an attached message, the company said, “Axis My India never publishes any kind of pre-poll/opinion poll. This will hold true for the entire period till the exit polls are released by us after the elections as per the ECI guidelines, on June 1 at 6:30 pm.”

The company further added that there was “nothing called internal/external report.”
