Govt wants to discuss Manipur issue: Rajnath Singh in Parliament

| @indiablooms | Jul 21, 2023, at 07:29 pm

New Delhi/UNI: Lok Sabha was adjourned on Friday till July 24 (Monday) amid the uproar of the opposition over the Manipur issue during the second day of the on-going Monsoon session of Parliament.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, amid the ruckus started by the Opposition over the Manipur issue just at the beginning of the House proceedings today, said that the government is serious about the Manipur issue and wants to discuss the situation of Law and Order issues in Manipur, but some opposition parties are not serious about it.

Singh said that the Manipur incident is definitely very serious, and understanding the situation, the PM has said that strict action will be taken on this incident.

"We want to discuss the issue in Parliament, but I see that some parties are unnecessarily creating the situation so that discussion over Manipur cannot take place," he said.

Singh said that I clearly accused the Opposition of not being as serious about the Manipur issue as they should have been.
